Hello My Name is X. I’ll be your server

American Server X
In this interview we take a look at one of the most disrespected positions in our country, the underdog if you will. A position where we say; it’s okay that you make less than minimum wage. Its okay to be disrespected; It's all part of the job. Today we look at the American Server.

Server X is a 26-year-old server who works at a steak house in South Bend. She is a hard worker often working five to six days a week. She has a degree in linguistics and education but soon found out after college that it can be hard to find a job in such a tough market. That is how she landed in this Job.

How do you like serving?

What do you think of your pay?

On average how many hours do you work a day? How many of them are spent on your feet running around?

How do you pay for benefits or save for retirement?

What is your favorite part of the job? Why?

What is the most demanding part of the job? Can you explain?

How much of the money that you make do you actually get to keep?

What happens if a table stiffs you or doesn’t leave a tip?

What happens if a table ditches on the bill?

What are the hours like?

Do you think the amount of stress you are under to constantly make a table happy has any effect on your mental health?

What do you do after your shift?
