1. Frame a CU portrait of a subject. Keep the same framing but take the shot with 2 different focal lengths and move your camera to accommodate the frame size. Describe the differences in the look based on the lens.
- wide angle lens: In this shot we get more of the scene in the shot. You take in less of the subject and more of everything around. 1/160 F4.5 55mm
- narrow angle lens: This shot is a lot more personal. We see a lot less of the scene. 1/160 F5.6 18mm
2. Take 3 photos of the same subject from the same camera position by using 3 different focal lengths. Respond to the differences of the image based on the focal lengths.
- Wide field of view: 55mm 1/160 F5.6
- Normal field of view: 24mm 1/160 F4.0
- CU field of view: 18mm 1/160 F3.5
3. Learn to control your exposure. Set your camera to manual. Take 3 photos of the same subject with the same lens and distance but with different exposure settings. Record your settings and how the image changes based on the aperture. The over and under exposure should still have some detail.
- Good exposure: 1/25 F5.6; the image is a little dark on the right because lack of fill but the photo has an even exposure.
- Overexposed: 1/100 F5.0; the shutter is held open longer allowing in more light.
- Underexposed: 1/400 F5.0; The shutter is really quick letting in less light for the sensor making a darker image.
4. Take 2 photos of the same subject with 2 different white balance settings. What different moods or emotions does the color evoke?
Daylight
The lighting was very warm and using the daylight balance made it even warmer. The tone of the whole photo is an orange; almost as if I used a filter.
Tungston
The Tungston white balance gave the image a more green tone. It does seem to be more balanced than the daylight balanced photo
Fluorescent
Out of the white balances I choose this one seems to be the most flattering. The scene is still a little warm but I am going to blame that on the lighting in the room and lack of fill.

5. Design 2 shots of the same subjects – 1 on the x-axis, 1 on the z-axis. Which shot is objective and which is subjective?
Subjective
6. Take two photos of the same subject - one with wide depth of field and one with shallow depth of field.
Shallow depth of field
7. Story: Girl is bored alone at home. She turns on the television but that still doesn't relive the boredom. She finally gets a phone call from a friend who wants to meet up so she leaves.
